BURKINA FASO FAMINE RELIEF UPDATE

    Project Need: $5,305

Widespread famine in West Africa has meant that large numbers of people have left their homes in search of food. There are some 4,000 refugees now living in two camps in Burkina Faso.

In February a meeting was arranged by the head of one of the camps to meet with the Commissaire for the Djibo district in order to inform him of the situation, and to gain permission for a distribution of essential items.

This project made an initial provision of $7,000 worth of food and other goods to the refugees living in the two camps in order to make life more comfortable.

The project maintains an involvement in the refugee camps, and continues to assist in meeting the needs of those living there.
